Pillars of Purpose and Impact
The Sent to Live Foundation was created to honor the belief that life is meant to be truly lived—with courage, presence, and connection. Guided by this mission, the Foundation focuses its work across three core pillars. Each pillar reflects a commitment to advocacy, support, and meaningful action inspired by Riley’s legacy and the values he embodied.
Pillar 1: Enhancing Support for USAFA Cadets Facing Serious Medical Diagnoses
Cadets at the United States Air Force Academy commit themselves to a rigorous path of service, academic excellence, and physical endurance. Riley faced a multitude of challenges when he was given a life-altering medical diagnosis, as the demands at the Academy can become overwhelming -- physically, mentally, and emotionally. We will use the lessons learned to help cadets like Riley feel supported by the Academy family.Pillar 2: Advocating for Skin Cancer Screening for Active Duty Service Members and Veterans in High-Risk Career Fields
Military roles may expose service members to factors that increase their risk for developing diseases. Riley cherished his time on the RJ, but the aviation-related exposure put him at a significantly increased risk of developing melanoma and other forms of cancer.Pillar 3: Engaging in Programs that Help People Be Present and Truly Live Their Lives
Riley believed that every moment should be lived with purpose, presence and appreciation. The Foundation works to help individual and communities connect with what matters most.
